Great Deals on Board Games

Yesterday we had to go to Little Rock and I dropped into Target and Kroger for a few things.  While I was there I picked up these great deals on board games.  Two of them will be a great addition to our weekly Friday night game night and one will make a great donation item.

Target has Monopoly Millionaire on sale right now for $14.98.  Using the $5 coupon from, this came to $9.98.  Regular price of this game is $19.98.

Kroger has Yahtzee on sale for B1G1F right now (price of 1 was $8.99).  I was able to use 2 of the $2 coupons from to get 2 games for $4.99 total.  Some stores will not let you use 2 coupons if the second one rings up free.  At some stores the first one will ring up $4.50 and the second will ring up $4.49.  This allows you to use two coupons.  It was late last night and the u-scan was the only place open.  The clerk had to scan my coupons and he took both coupons off.  So it just depends on the store and the clerk if they will take 1 or 2 of the coupons.  Even with just one coupon, you would get 2 games for $6.99.  The price for these at Target was almost $8 for one and I have hear that they are about $7 at Walmart.

To make this deal even better there is a Hasbro rebate out that can earn prepaid rewards cards from $5 to $40.  The rebate is good on the following games:

The Game of Life® (SKU# 04000), Monopoly® (SKU# 00009), Scattergories® (SKUs# A2861, 05721), Pictionary® (SKU# 05713), Scrabble® (SKUs# 04024, 37719), Yahtzee® (SKU# 00950), Hungry Hungry Hippos® (SKUs# 05297, 98936), Jenga® (SKU# 53557), Twister® (SKUs# 16965, 98831), Connect 4® (SKUs# 08417, 98779), Elefun® (SKUs#
05294, 98934) and/or Operation® (SKU# 40198)

It does not require the UPC off the box (great for gift giving), you need only write the numbers on the rebate form.  Be sure to copy down the upc numbers before wrapping or donating.  It allows multiple receipts or packing slips.  Purchases are to be between 11/1/2012 and 12/25/2012, and postmarked by 1/15/2013.

Always make sure you read directions and follow the instructions on rebate forms to receive your rebate without problems.

Remember that not all stores and all locations have the same sales.  Be sure to check your stores price before doing the deal.

The coupons may not be available for long, so if you would like to use them it would be best to print them as soon as you can.

If you have no children, or don’t need the games, this is an inexpensive way to donate some great items to toy drives, shelters or wherever you find to make a donation.  Being frugal allows us to give more!

Kroger Mega Savings Event

Yesterday was our homeschool field trip day to see The Art of Brick exhibit at The William J. Clinton Presidential Library.  It was a beautiful, unusually warm, and sunny day for the first of February.

We live in the country over an hour away from Little Rock so I plan our trips to include stops at various places.  Yesterday our stops included the public library to return and pick up books, Savers, Hobby Lobby and Kroger.

I love Kroger!  I love when they have the Mega Savings Event.  If you are not familiar with Kroger, the Mega Savings Event is when you can buy multiples of 10 participating items and you will get $5 off.  You must buy in multiples of 10 (10, 20, 30 …) and you can mix and match any participating items.

This trip I saved 65% and scored:

10 Velveeta Shells and Cheese Cups .99
 .49 each after Mega Savings

6 Sunny D (some went to the freezer before the picture) 1.49
Used (3) .55/2 coupons from 1/8 SS coupon insert
.44 each after Mega Savings and coupons

4 Pepperidge Farm Goldfish 1.49

2 Post Grape Nuts 2.49
Used (2) $1/1 coupons from SS 1/15

Post Honey Bunches of Oats 2.49
Planned to use $1 IP coupon but it was expired

Gotta love Kroger!

Great savings at Kroger!

The other day I made a quick trip in Kroger for some great deals.  I saved 75% on this trip and scored:

1 Box Nabisco Honey Maid Graham Crackers 3.99

Used Free Product Coupon from Manufacturer received for reporting a concern

5 Boxes of Barilla Whole Grain Pasta 1.00 each
Used (5) .55/1 coupons from 1/8/12 SS coupon insert
Free (no overage allowed at my Kroger)

3 Angel Soft 4 pk regular rolls 1.00 each

1 Box Kroger Wheat Saltines 1.00

2 Brawny Paper Towels Single Rolls 1.00 each
Used $1/1 pkg Facebook Coupon (you can print twice by hitting back button)

1 Newspaper

Total including tax was $5.93

I ordered my extra Barilla coupons from Coupon Dede.  Coupon Dede is located in Texas which means I get my coupons pretty quick.  Keep in mind that different parts of the country get different coupons.  Many times I order from The Coupon Clippers for a different selection of coupons or a denomination of the same coupon.

Example – recently the Barilla coupon I ordered was for .55/1 in our area but many other areas received a $1/2 coupon.  I prefer the .55/1 coupon as it doubles at Kroger for a great deal.

Can’t wait to hit Kroger again this week.

How did you do at Kroger?  Do you have any questions about shopping at Kroger?
